The simple life with a few modern conveniences. I never had it that rough when camping. Usually just a tent and what ever fit my backpack, even while elk hunting in MT. I did have an SLR, a few lenses, and plenty of film though.

I’ve been hiking with an SLR and lenses. It is amazing how much each small item adds to the weight of the backpack.

How do you transport an elk back to the truck? They never show that in movies.

Borrow one of those 4WD ATVs from a rancher and haul it to camp the easy way. Then on to a meat processor via pick up truck.
An SLR with a few lenses adds weight, but they are still lighter than most DSLRs. I’m starting to shoot MFT and may soon move to a Sony full frame mirrorless. Much lighter.
