Typewriter Booty in Cortez, Colorado.

We made our annual trip to the Antique Corral in Cortez, Colorado. I usually score some typewriters there. Today I picked up one. The portables all were priced fairly. The standards, all in miserable condition, were overpriced. Can you see what is missing on the Underwood 3? Mad props goes to the reader who can guess which machine I purchased.

I think we can safely assume it’s not the plastic wedge. 😉

Ooh, ouch. It’s the upper frame on the Underwood’s carriage is broken off. I have a 20-inch #3 with the same problem. I am guessing something traumatic happened in this machine’s past.

I’m guessing the Aristocrat followed you home.
There sure looks like a good selection of typewriters.

We have a winner. I sold an Arrow and KMM a while ago. This Aristocrat is a keeper, and it is one of my few wartime typewriters.

Those adding machines remind me how lately I’ve seen some listed online as “numbers-only typewriters.” 🙂
