    Hummingbirds are fun to watch. I’ve never seen any in the West. I hear there are several species (5 I think) West of the Mississippi.

    Thank you for the great descriptions of my native Colorado. I miss the Centennial State’s great beauty — especially that in its southwestern corner. I live in Chicago now, which has its own Midwestern beauty. I’m particularly fond of Illinois autumns.
