While my YouTube habits tend to send me into the Typosphere, my girlfriend frequently watches videos pertaining to RV life. She recently watched a video that extolled some essentials for BLM camping. One particular item was the solar-powered Luci light. They come in different colors and intensities, and, after a good day of charging in the sun, they apparently last for hours.

Beyond its value for BLM RVing, it could be used for blackouts (always thinking about hurricanes in Florida), or for general conservation use. I decided to buy three of the candle versions. They have a flicker option, which is very relaxing. Although a different model would be better for reading, these are fantastic for ambience.

They also emit little to no heat (again, Florida). According to the company’s website, which is obviously biased but seems legit, they are doing some good in the world: https://mpowerd.com.

I bought my lamps on Amazon, saving a few dollars. Next I’ll buy a white light for reading.

Those are neat lights. I think we first saw them on the Shark Tank and bought some for hurricane season. I still have some packed away.

I like that they emit no heat. I guess some can charge phones, too.

Solar lights are great! I’ve had them in my garden for years. These ones look like they’d make fabulous night lights for kids too

I like that. We lose power often and it can be out for days. This would be a great option to have around the house.
Any idea how much light the reading variety give off? I’ve had to rely on kerosine and my running headlamp.

I just bought the heavy-duty light. I’ll let you know how well it works. (Cloudy today.) It also has a usb outlet for charging phones.

Just gave it a test, Michael. This thing has power, and it has a loop so that you can hang it. Good for reading: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0794WJ2ST/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks. I think I’ll be ordering it. Is that a two light set?

I wish, but no. The one unit has ten little lights inside.
