Being new to your new home, and the present restrictions, allows time to think, read, and even some solitary exploration of the natural places near-by.
Right now I’m bogged down with course prep, but I should be able to explore again soon. This is a perfect opportunity to find a new balance between work and leisure. Can’t let those bad habits return.
I sat out on my front porch this evening as a gusty system blew through, the promise of rain let down by streaks of virga – rain that evaporated before hitting the ground. No rain, but a spectacular sky show served as condolence. Unlike storms on the coast, rain in the high desert can fall from 20,000 feet or higher. It reminds me how small we are, how insignificant our troubles seem.
