I love poetic thinkers like Benjamin and Nietzsche. Lyotard, from what I recall, is less so. His ideas are interesting. I used them in a paper on Samuel Beckett years ago.

Agreed. I say the same to my students. The other day I watched a news bit about how some Silicon Valley parents don’t let their children use tech. It’s all books, Legos, and physical activities instead.
I’ll pick up a book, and a pencil and paper, and my typewriter before I’ll choose my ‘smart’ phone or a PC.

I love my computers and my Internet, but I’m glad they weren’t available during my childhood.
