The SM5 is a basic machine, but I like that for portable typing. This was manufactured in 1962. If I’m reading the database right, all SM5s came out that year. What I like about this fellow is that he came with a name written on the back: Wallden. I bought it during this trip, so the unintended (now intended) reference to Walden is perfect.
