As you can see from these photos, the typewriter table was quite the success today. I picked a good spot with plenty of foot traffic. Many students were drawn towards the machines. A few could be converts. One already headed out to buy one. She also typed a story to give to poet Richard Blanco. I don’t need to explain to enthusiasts what attracted people to typewriters, but take notice that these students are Z-Gen students. The power of the typewriter remains strong.
Few people showed up to the film screening of California Typewriter. I had to fit into an odd time in the schedule. Students have jobs. I know I’m exhausted on this first day of the three-day event. Now we shall show Il Postino in the auditorium, another film about the joys of writing.
Oh. I forgot to mention that the library asked me if I would share my typewriters for other events. Of course! Also, Central Campus has a few machines in their library that need maintenance. I might be put on payroll as a repair man. The revolution continues!
