Bravo! Been thinking about this recently as well — seeing clearly between the romantic vs the truly functional advantages of older devices. Though I could imagine that some would probably argue that the pencil writing machine is less distracting and perhaps more efficient still. At least for me, a sample of my handwriting would dispel that notion.
