I am hoping a rhetorical and political sea-change in 2020 makes that possible. By the way, I normally try to avoid risking any generalizations in my poetry, but the fictional man in this poem certainly exists. I’ve seen ample evidence over the last few days. Some people hold such beliefs.

Good crops with fertile soil and dreams will no longer be broken, but fulfilled.
