Good points. We all need to weigh our choices and then choose what’s best. I choose to get another typewriter.

Ah, don’t get me started. Generally I will need at least three soap boxes for this topic.

I am in complete agreement with you. Many of the people I work with are severely overweight and in poor health and physical condition. Since I work in health care I believe we owe it to our patients to set an example. A question I often get asked is how I keep so healthy, strong and slim. The answer is simple. Do daily exercise (outdoors), don’t sit much – always moving – and eat food with single ingredients (apple, carrot, meat) that can be identified on sight without the need for a label. In addition to that, try to get a good night’s sleep.

There is no magic, no secret formula, no pill. It’s easy really. The response I get is that it is too hard and inconvenient to cook, go for a walk and turn off the TV/computer. Oddly enough, until about 30 years ago, the human race has had no problem with this. What happened?

The argument that cooking takes more time is another good example. Waiting in a drive thru or going to a restaurant takes as much or more time.

A home-cooked meal has less sodium and fat, too.
