The immaturity of society as well as its general ignorance of almost everything never ceases to amaze me, but there is a fellow with a red had who even knows all there is to know in a medical lab. Too bad many people tend to believe social media, and they fail to see the implications to others (think the fellow who was told to quarantine and then took his daughter to a dance). The Covi-19 is an infectious disease that started in China. It was not created and caused by Chinese living here any more than any other nationality. This virus affects all of us. We also still go to Chinese and Italian restaurants.

I was wondering about a stigma against Italians. Even today many of the Italians in Boston’s North End are actually from Italy (born there). There is nothing that would stop me from enjoying the delicious restaurants there! Many Boston sports franchises have lost due to North End gluttony, and I cannot blame them.

Xavier just declared yesterday that we’re going all-online for at least the next month.
A Korean-American friend in New York City says he was insulted and harrassed by a man on the street who accused him of spreading the virus. Madness—and I’m afraid we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Eliezane’s university in Texas is shutting down. I’m beginning to think that Florida is dragging its feat, which isn’t a good sign.

That’s horrible to hear about your friend. I told my students that everything will be fine as long as rational thinking keeps a check on brainstem panic.
