Sorry to hear about the typewriters. Replacing the draw bands will give you something to do on the cold nights of winter. Hope the cases don’t warp from the water.
I find it is always nice to have someone with whom adventures can be shared.
Regarding the typewriters, set the cases out in the morning sun (before the afternoon rains start again) to dry them.
After the monsoon season we ease into autumn, the best time of year. And chile harvest time too, with the somewhat cannibas-like aroma of roasting peppers.
Wow, that is one intense period of your life. Great to have a partner to share it with. I hope it all works out for you both!
