People’s resistance to believe this deadly virus and easy ways to slow, adn maybe even stop, the spread never ceases to amaze me at their stupidity and lack of respect for themselves and others.

Wearing a mask infringes on their rights. Nonsense! We all need to wear clothes when outside of our house or we get arrested. Same thing should be done with masks and other common sense things to help society. Wearing a mask is a small thing we must do.

Agreed. It’s shocking how many not-unintelligent people, even now, are calling the virus a “hoax” and identifying freedom and patriotism with not giving a crap about your fellow citizens.

The doublethink is astounding. Many of these people would consider themselves to be moral and probably religious. But I guess if you think the virus is a hoax, that isn’t a factor. BUT that’s the problem, I think a lot of people DO believe it, at least to some degree. Yesterday a college student on the news flatly admitted that “He doesn’t care. He’s strong. It isn’t dangerous for him” (a paraphrase). I’m beginning to think that morality is the hoax, at least for a great many people.
