High winds.
Sleep on a slant. Fall in the morning.
Set up for afternoon rain.
Set camp at night. Saw this in the morning.
Beware of the Marmots.
One problem: handlebar bags can disconnect your dropper post cable.
I call Scotch Creek “Scotch on the Rocks”—a favorite road for Jeeps.

  1. The lessons learned and the memories of these trips stay with you your whole life. The desire to repeat them lessens as the years roll on. Cherish them as they come to you, or rather as you go to them. Take pictures, some memories fade or get pushed aside. One day you will see an image of yourself and not remember where that was. Be well.

Congratulations on being able to enjoy such a wonderful vacation. You got to go to some very spectacular places.

I never even hiked in Colorado (booo hoooo hoooooo). I have gone bicycle camping in several places in PA and VA.. It is a different kind of experience from anything else in the hiking, biking, camping world.

    Happy syllabussing!

Thanks, Bill. It was awesome and difficult. It was hard steering a top-heavy bike on narrow trails. I’d like to hike the CT someday—greater opportunity to absorb the moment.
