Wandering through the Everglades

I’m practicing using my Nikon D5300 before going hiking this summer. The Florida weather was ideal today. The wind was invigorating; the sun was soft. What these photos don’t capture are all of the sounds of the Everglades: the peeping and grunting alligators, the songs of birdlife, and the pulsing rhythm of frogs and insects. I saw few people there, and at times it was if I were the only human for miles. With any luck, the experience will inspire some typewritten poetry.

(I have a more apt lens coming in the mail. )
