A nice meditation. I have mixed feelings about night. On the one hand, it does bring out the more intuitive, less limited, creative side of the mind. On the other, the dark may hold unseen terrors: strange animals and insects, people who mean no good. The best solution is to be out at night in a group of close friends who act as a buffer against the (largely imaginary) threats while also welcoming the warmer, more spontaneous sides of my personality.
I picture a fellowship of typists clacking through the dark streets—a scout, some at the flanks, and a few at rearguard. I think the prowlers would be the terrified ones.
