Thank you. I lucked out with this one. It types very well, with a platen that isn’t too hard. No bells and whistles on a Simplex, but it’s great machine.
Funny that you call out the SG series as easy to find. I suppose that’s true if you’re willing to have one shipped, but I’m reluctant to take that leap–it’s one of the heaviest typewriters I know of, and to ship it right would really require a custom-built crate, don’t you think?

Yes. I wouldn’t risk it. Those SG3s are pretty common, but I would not ship that either.
