    Could be enough shrinkage in the hard rubber causing the tops of the letters to be faint. I have a similar problem with my 1966 Hermes Baby.
    Nice typeface.

    Sometimes, if the spools aren’t turning easily, there’s a bit too much tension on the ribbon and the tops of letters will get cut off, especially capitals. So you might see if something needs cleaning down there.
